YALC 2022 | Élménybeszámoló
Ahogyan azt írtam az előző posztomban, idén végre megrendezésre került a YALC, (Young Adult Literature Convention) ami a LFCC (London Film & Comic Con) része. Július 8-tól egészen 10-ig tartanak a programok mind az irodalom, mind a comic con kedvelőinek. Párocskám jóvoltából születésnapomra kaptam belépőjegyet a YALC szombati programjára. Ezúton is köszönöm neki, legjobb férj ever! *-* 💕
A jegyem már megvolt májusban, akkor ki is nyomtattam a timetable-lel egyetemben, bár ez 1-2x módosult azóta. A YALC SCHEDULE Map az csak a napokban jött ki, de ezt is hozzátettem a többi papíromhoz. Természetesen matricám is van mellé, így majd a bullet journalomban tudok írni róla később. Meg beragasztgatni a dolgokat. 😁/
As I wrote in my previous post, the YALC (Young Adult Literature Convention), which is part of the LFCC (London Film & Comic Con), was finally held this year. From July 8th to 10th, the programs will be held for lovers of both literature and comic con. Thanks to my partner, I received a ticket to the YALC Saturday program for my birthday. I thank him again, best husband ever! *-* 💕
I already had my ticket in May, and I printed it out together with the timetable, although it has changed 1-2 times since then. The YALC SCHEDULE Map came out only a few days ago, but I added it to my other papers. Of course, I also have a sticker with it, so I can write about it later in my bullet journal. Sticking things together. 😁
Közben készítettem magamnak egy to do listet, hogy biztosan ne felejtsek el/itthon semmit. Úgy gondolom, minden a terv szerint alakult. Biztos, ami biztos, három különbző útvonalat is kinéztem az Olympia Londonhoz, amely a helyet biztosította. /
In the meantime, I made a to-do list for myself to make sure I didn't forget anything at home. I think everything went according to plan. Sure enough, I looked at three different routes to Olympia London, which secured the spot.

Egy kicsivel több, mint egy óra alatt metrót és buszt használva oda is értem. /
I got there in a little more than an hour using the metro and bus.
Annyit gyorsan még megjegyeznék, hogy számomra nagyon nagy dolog volt ide eljutni. Sokan nem tudják, de egy kis városból (Szentes ❤) származom, és bár felnőttként éltem pár évet a fővárosban is, azért a mai napig csodájára járok ezeknek a programoknak. Míg Budapesten voltunk, egyszer volt szerencsém eljutni a (XXIII.) Budapesti Nemzetközi Könyvfesztiválra amit a millenárison tartottak, valamint ugyanebben az évben a (87.) Ünnepi könyvhétre is. Azóta is folyton emlegetem ezeket a könyves programokat. Fun fact, de annak ellenére sem voltam korábban egy ilyen programon sem Londonon belül, hogy már 2016 októbere óta kint élünk! :O Tudom, tudom, későn érő típus vagyok... 😂/
I would like to quickly note that it was a big deal for me to get here. Many people don't know, but I come from a small town (Szentes ❤), and even though I lived in the capital for a few years as an adult, I still admire these programs to this day. While we were in Budapest, I was lucky enough to go to the ( XXIII) Budapest International Book Festival , which was held at the Millenáris, as well as the ( 87th) Holiday Book Week in the same year . Since then, I keep mentioning these book programs. Fun fact, but despite the fact that I've been living abroad since October 2016, I've never been to such a program before, even within London! :O I know, I know, I'm a late bloomer... 😂
Az meg szerintem nem is titok, hogy Cassandra Clare az egyik kedvnec íróm, és 2013 óta követem munkásságát. ^_^ Megvan az eddig megjelent összes könyve magyarul és angolul is. Évek óta szerettem volna már látni, találkozni vele, de valahogy mindig későn jutott el hozzám a híre, és addigra a jegyek elfogytak. Arról nem is beszélve, hogy utána nem sokkal kitört a világjárvány, ami ellehetetlenítette ezeket a találkozókat is, - meg kb. minden mást is - és helyette csak online programok voltak. Aztán végre, végre! idén már talán magunk mögött tudhatjuk a covid-ot, de legalább is annyira, hogy elkezdtek ismét programokat szervezni. És igen, Cassie miatt mentem első sorban a YALC-ra. Oké, gondolat bezárva, jöjjön a valódi élménybeszámoló! ;) /
I don't think it's a secret that Cassandra Clare is one of my favorite writers, and I've been following her work since 2013. ^_^ I have all the books published so far in both Hungarian and English. I've been wanting to see her for years, but somehow the news always reached me late, and by then the tickets were sold out. Not to mention that the pandemic broke out not long after that, which made these meetings impossible, - and approx. everything else - and instead there were only online programs. Then finally, finally! this year we may be able to put covid behind us, but at least to the extent that they started organizing programs again. And yes, I went to YALC in the first place because of Cassie. Okay, thought closed, let the real experience report come! ;)
Reggel időben keltem, készítettem szendvicset, tettem el vizet és pár szelet nasit. Volt nálam telefon töltő, just in case, de végül nem volt szükségem rá. Vittem egy összecsukható fésűt, és egy másik felsőt a fotózásra. I know, hiú vagyok :D Csekkoltam, hogy biztos nálam legyen a jegyem, és a fent említett papírjaim.
8:15 körül elindultam otthonról, metrót (Piccadilly Finsbury Parkig, onnan Victoria Green Parkig) és buszt (9-es busz) használva odaértem 9:25 körül. Elvolt borulva, és reggel még hűvös volt az idő, de mivel napok óta kánikula van, így ez felüdülés volt. *-*
Már a buszból látni lehetett a hosszú sort, így eltéveszteni sem lehetett, hogy hova kellett menni. /
I woke up early in the morning, made a sandwich, and put away water and a few slices of bread. I had a phone charger with me, just in case, but in the end, I didn't need it. I brought a collapsible comb and another top to the photo shoot. I know, I'm vain :D I checked to make sure I had my ticket and the aforementioned papers.
I left home around 8:15, using the tube (Piccadilly to Finsbury Park, then Victoria Green Park) and the bus (bus 9) to get there around 9:25. It was overcast and the weather was still cool in the morning, but since it has been hot for days, it was a relief. *-*
You could already see the long line from the bus, so it was impossible to miss where you had to go.
Gyorsan beálltam a sorba. Szerencsére gördülékenyen haladtunk előre. 9:34-re a kapuhoz értem. Rögtön két StarWars rohamosztagos várt minket :D Nagyon menci volt! OMG, olyan boldog voltam, hogy végre eljutottam ide, hogy sírni tudtam volna! (oh, boy, tudom, ez milyen nyálasan hangzik, de akkor is így volt!) Amint beértünk, volt egy igen rövid táska ellenőrzés. 9:50-re be is értem. A jegyemet lecsippantották, kaptam nyomdát a karomra. (a single ticketesek nyomdát, a háromnapos jegyet váltók karszalagot kaptak) Utána bementem a YALC kapuján (ez balra, míg a Comic Con-é jobbra volt.)/
I quickly got in line. Fortunately, we progressed smoothly. I got to the gate at 9:34 . Two StarWars figures were waiting for us right away :D It was so cool! OMG, I was so happy to finally get here I could have cried! (oh boy, I know how cheesy that sounds, but it is still true!) Once inside, there was a very quick bag check. I got in at 9:50 . My ticket was whistled, and I got a stamp on my arm. (single ticket holders received a stamp, and those who exchanged a three-day ticket received a wristband) After that, I entered the YALC gate (it was on the left, while Comic Con's was on the right.)
Ilyen volt a csuklómra nyomdázott YALC felirat! Minden igyekezetem ellenére, mikor ezt a blogposztot írom, már eléggé lekopott sajnos :( /

Így nézett ki a YALC helyszíne. (A Cassie-s program a YALC felirat után volt helyileg, de erről majd kicsit később bővebben írok még.) Amint beértem, az volt a célom, hogy kapjak VQ-t Cassie-hez délutánra. (15:00) Szerencsére még volt szabad jegy, így gyorsan kértem egyet. (bő egy órával a kapunyitás után értem oda, és máris a 201. voltam a sorban! 😱) A srác, aki osztogatta a VQ-kat, azt mondta, hogy nagyjából 16:00 körül kerülök sorra. Gondoltam, no para, legalább addig szétnézek. Megkérdeztem, hogy a Panel beszélgetésre is kell-e kérnem egyet, de az úgy működik, hogy aki korábban odaér, az leül és amíg van hely, addig részt lehet venni rajta. (mondjuk elterveztem, hogy amint végzek a fotózással, máris megrohamozom a panelt, és beülök egy eggyel korábbi beszélgetésre, hogy biztosan legyen helyem!) Közben beszéltem pár szót egy fiatalabb lánnyal, aki szintén Cassandra Clare-hez kért VQ-t. /
This is what the YALC venue looked like. (Cassie's program was locally after the YALC sign, but I'll write more about that a little later.) As soon as I got in, my goal was to get VQ for Cassie in the afternoon. (15:00) Fortunately, there were still free tickets, so I quickly asked for one. (I got there more than an hour after the gates opened, and I was already number 201 in line! 😱) The guy who was handing out the VQs said that my turn would be around 16:00. I thought, well, at least I'll look around until then. I asked if I should also ask for one for the Panel discussion, but the way it works is that whoever gets there earlier gets a seat and you can participate as long as there is room. (let's say I planned that as soon as I finished the photo shoot, I would rush to the panel and sit in on an earlier conversation to make sure I had a seat!) In the meantime, I had a few words with a younger girl who also asked for a VQ with Cassandra Clare.

I saw Saturday's YALC program on the wall and there were a few changes. (e.g. not the 1st, but the 10th table CC.)
No, így már megnyugodtam, mert minden úgy ment, ahogy elterveztem. :) Körbejártam úgy-ahogy a helyet. Még a YALC feliratnál is sikerült fotózkodni,(10:15) mert egy kedves hölgy segített ebben! ^_^/
Well, that's when I calmed down because everything went as I planned. :) I walked around the place. I even managed to take a photo at the YALC sign ( 10:15 a.m. ) because a nice lady helped to me! ^_^

Egyébként ezt a trikót direkt erre az eventre vettem még 2020-ban, csak ugye akkor elmaradt. A kardigánom pedig hasznosnak bizonyult, mert elég hűvös volt a reggel. (ez pedig H&M)/
By the way, I bought this jersey directly for this event back in 2020, but it wasn't available then, right? And my cardigan came in handy because it was quite chilly in the morning. (this is H&M)

Amúgy tudom, ez furcsa lesz, de nagyon nem vettem/szereztem be semmit. (egy üveg vizet és egy kávét vettem csak napközben) Nem is terveztem, meg nem volt szerencsém ARC példányokat bezsebelni. Rengeteg könyves stand volt, de most megfogadtam, hogy nem veszek azért új könyvet, mert szép a borítója. Pedig higyjétek el, rengeteg gyönyörű könyv volt! *-* A fent említett hölgy adott nekem egy könyvjelzőt, és egy kártyát. Csodaszép! Azért lehet, hogy ezt majd megrendelem egyszer. (mindenesetre a kívánságlistámra felteszem :) )/
Anyway, I know this is going to be weird, but I really haven't bought/acquired anything. (I bought a bottle of water and a coffee only during the day) I didn't even plan to, and I didn't have the luck to bag ARC copies. There were a lot of book stands, but now I vowed not to buy a new book just because it has a nice cover. But believe me, there were a lot of beautiful books! *-* The aforementioned lady gave me a bookmark and a card. Beautiful! Maybe I'll order this sometime. (in any case, I'll put it on my wishlist :) )

Megálltam azért pár kép erejéig a Waterstones standjánál, és OMG! *_* A kék és zöld borítós könyvek speciálisan a YALC eventre készültek, (The Last Hours sorozat eddig megjelent két kötete a COG és a COI) a bordó alapon foiled pedig a Csontváros 15. évfordujára készült. Valamint az Éjfél kisasszony 5. évfordulójára kiadott kiadás is ott volt mellettük. Az a vicces, hogy én még ehhez a sima képhez is megkérdeztem az ott dolgozó lányt, hogy rendben van-e, ha készítek pár fotót, de a nap folyamán rengeteg ember fotózott és videózott kb. mindent is. (annak ellenére, hogy a weboldalon külön kérték, hogy pl. a panel beszélgetéseket NE rögzítsék)
Ezután fogtam magam, és átmentem a Comic Conra nézelődni ^_^ (igazából a YALC fent, a LFCC meg lent volt) Szuper - szuper jó volt látni ennyi embert, akik mind különböző jelmezbe öltözek! Rengeteg dedikálás folyt egydőben, voltak páran, akik ismertebbek voltak számomra. Láttam kicsit messzebbről Aidan Turnert,(Hobbit, Csontváros- Luke) Christopher Lloydot,(doki, Vissza a jövőbe) de kint volt a neve David Harbournek (Stranger Things) és Joseph Quinn-nek is (Stranger Things). Utóbbi nagyon népszerű, több cosplayes is őt választotta témának. Volt néhány HP szereplő is, és még rengeteg más színész. Nem is kell mondanom, hogy mindhez kígyózó sorok tartoztak. Mivel nem vettem külön Comic Con jegyet, plusz egyéb jegyet a színészekhez, így csak távolról néztem őket. ^^ Itt is volt panel beszélgetés, két nagy panel volt a terem két végében. Mivel ez nagyobb volt, mint a YALC-os, így kivetítőn is lehetett követni azoknak, akik messzebb ültek le, vagy kívűlről akarták nézni. Itt is volt rengeteg stand, comic conos, pokémon, és art témában. Voltak itt pólók, mindenféle ruhák, és kb. a végtelenségig sorolhatnám. :)
Voltak speciális fotózások is, külön jegyért persze. pl. Hopp autója, a vissza a jövőbe óratorony, meg talán a delorain is, de ez nem biztos, mert nem láttam. Voltak még Minionok is, ők is szívesen vették, ha pózolt velük valaki. :)/
I stopped at the Waterstones stand for a few pictures , and OMG! *_* The books with blue and green covers were specially made for the YALC event (the two volumes of The Last Hours series published so far are COG and COI) and the foiled on the burgundy background was made for the 15th anniversary of Bone City. Also, the 5th anniversary edition of Miss Midnight was also there with them. The funny thing is that, even for this plain picture, I asked the girl working there if it was okay if I took a few photos, but during the day a lot of people were taking photos and videos. everything too. (despite the fact that it was specifically requested on the website that e.g. the panel discussions should NOT be recorded)
Then I got myself together and went over to Comic-Con to look at it ^_^ (actually YALC was upstairs, LFCC was downstairs) It was great - it was great to see so many people, all dressed in different costumes! There were a lot of signings going on at the same time, there were a few who were better known to me. I saw Aidan Turner (The Hobbit, City of Bones - Luke) and Christopher Lloyd (Doctor, Back to the Future) from a little further away, but the names of David Harbor (Stranger Things) and Joseph Quinn (Stranger Things) were also out there. The latter is very popular, and several cosplayers have chosen it as their theme. There were some HP characters and many other actors. Needless to say, they all involved snaking lines. Since I didn't buy a separate Comic-Con ticket, plus other tickets for the actors, I just watched them from a distance. ^^ There was also a panel discussion here, there were two large panels at either end of the room. Since it was bigger than the YALC one, it could also be watched on a projector for those who sat further away or wanted to watch from outside. There were also lots of stands, comic cons, pokemon, and art. There were T-shirts, all kinds of clothes, and approx. I could go on and on. :)
There were also special photo sessions, for a separate ticket, of course. e.g. Hopp's car, the back-to-the-future clock tower, and maybe his Deloraine too, but I'm not sure because I haven't seen it. There were even Minions, they were also happy to have someone pose with them. :)
Kávé, kávé, kávé.../Coffee, coffee, coffee...
Dél körül addig kutattam kávé után, amíg végre találtam egy helyet, ahol lehetett kapni. Lepihentem kicsit a chill out zónában. Addigra már nagyon kellett az a kávé! Ez az úgynevezett pihenő zóna nem igazán volt kényelmes, mert annyiból állt, hogy volt egy óriási szőnyeg leterítve, volt néhány babzsák fotel, amiket persze már elfoglaltak addigra, szóval simán leültem erre a szőnyegre. (akinek volt nagy táskája, az vitt magával párnát is) Amíg próbáltam pihentetni a lábaimat, addig megnéztem a programfüzetet, amit időközben szereztem. Megnéztem ismét a térképet, majd beültem az egyik panel beszélgetésre 13:00-kor. TRY THE FANTASY címmel. Itt legalább egy fokkal kényelmesebb volt a szék. :D Bár ez sem volt teljesen tökéletes :D/
Around noon, I searched for coffee until I finally found a place that offered it. I rested a bit in the chill out zone . By then, I really needed that coffee! This so-called rest zone was not really comfortable, because it consisted of a giant carpet spread out, there were a few bean bag armchairs, which of course were already occupied by then, so I just sat down on this carpet. (whoever had a big bag also brought a pillow) While I was trying to rest my legs, I looked at the program booklet that I had obtained in the meantime. I looked at the map again, then sat down for one of the panel discussions at 1:00 p.m. titled TRY THE FANTASY . The chair was at least one degree more comfortable here. :D Although it wasn't quite perfect either :D
14:00-kor megint kis séta, közben megálltam és beköszöntem az Illumicrate standájhoz, mert pont ott volt az alapítója, és mondtam neki, hogy imádom a dobozaikat, és megköszöntem nekik a munkájukat, amit hónapról-hónapra alkotnak. fura volt így beszélgetni valakivel, aki neked ismerős pl. az instagramról, de te neki egy random vásárló vagy csak. :D
Majd átöltöztem a másik felsőmbe, ami illett a fotózáshoz. Mivel kb. 16:00-kor kerültem volna sorra a fotózáson, így beültem a 14:45-ös kezdetű Back to the Future panel beszélgetésre. /
At 2:00 p.m., another short walk, during which I stopped and went to the Illumicrate stand, because its founder was right there, and I told him that I love their boxes and thanked them for their work, which they create month after month. it was strange to talk like this with someone you know, e.g. from Instagram, but you're just a random customer for them. :D
Then I changed into my other top, which was suitable for the photo shoot. Since approx. At 16:00 I would have had my turn at the photo shoot, so I sat in on the Back to the Future panel discussion starting at 14:45.
Frances Lee McCain aka Stella Baines, Donald Fullilove aka Goldie Wilson, Jeffrey Weissman, aka George McFly [a 2. és a 3. részben] Claudia Wells aka Jennifer; vett részt rajta. Sikerült viszonylag elöl helyet foglalni, pedig az utolsó percekben mentem le. De mivel ez sokkal nagyobb volt, mint ami a YALC-on volt, így volt mindkét oldalon kivetítő. Titkon bíztam benne, hogy esetleg Doki is feltűnik, de ő nagyon levolt foglalva a dedikálásokkal és a fotózásokkal. (Pedig még a magasságos egek! Great Scott! is be lett kiabálva a nézők által :D) 15:30-kor vége is lett volna a beszélgetésnek, de kicsivel előtte eljöttem, hogy időben visszaérjek a YALC oldalra a fotózásra./

15:45-re átértem a fotózásra, de ekkor derült ki, hogy volt valami miss communication, és Cassandra Clare csak 16:00-tól kezdi a fotózást a 15:00 helyett. Viszont nem láttam értelmét elkóvályogni máshova, így türelmesen vártam, amíg az én sorszámom került sorra...
Korábban elcsíptem már a speciális falat, ami egy könyvborító *-* /
I went to the photo shoot at 3:45 p.m., but then it turned out that there was a miscommunication, and Cassandra Clare only starts the photo shoot from 4:00 p.m. instead of 3:00 p.m. However, I didn't see the point in going somewhere else, so I waited patiently until it was my turn...
