Idén ismertem meg Helen Scheuerer munkásságát, és azonnal a kedvenceim közé került. A The Ashes of Thezmarr lezáró kötete a Silver & Smoke, (arc példány a NetGalley oldalról, de megrendeltem a keménytáblás kiadást is) egy nagyon izgalmas, pörgős történet, amely teljesen beszippantott! Csak úgy faltam a lapokat, mert olyan sok minden forgott kockán, és tudni akartam, vajon mi lesz Wrenék sorsa.
Egyszerűen imádtam! Alig akartam letenni, amikor más teendőket kellett ellátni. Nagyon izgultam, hogy vajon kifutnak-e Wrenék az időből, és hogy vissza tudja-e majd szerezni Delmirat, aminek ő a jogos uralkodónője. Nem volt egy perc megállás sem, mindig történt valami!
Egyszerre akartam haladni az olvasással, és közben meg mégsem akartam a végére érni, mivel egy sorozat befejezése számoma mindig nehéz feladat, mert az ember már úgy hozzánőtt a karakterekhez, mintha hús-vér emberekről lenne szó, és nem csak könyvszereplőkről. Ráadásul mind szerethető. Szóval nehéz az elengedés. De nagyon megvagyok elégedve a befejezéssel, csak ajánlani tudom! ❤
Nagyon tenyérbemászó volt Lord Lucian, egy ízig-vérig gonosz ember, aki csak saját magára gondol. Talán még Silasnál is jobban utáltam, pedig ős is borzalmas volt. Dariant megkedveltem, és világossá vált, mit miért tett a múltban. Nem tudtam nem szeretni Torjt és Wrent, mert annyi mindenen mentek keresztül együtt. De mint az előző részben, így most is Kipp volt a kedvencem! Zseniális egy figura!😃Szívesen olvasnék róla még többet! Ami a Drevenor akadémiával történt, az nagyon megrázó élmény volt, de bíztam benne, hogy lesz az intézmény számára remény. Viszont csodáltam az összefogást, amit mind a Warswordok, mind az alkímisták tanusítottak.

This year, I discovered Helen Scheuerer’s work, and it immediately became one of my favorites. The final volume of The Ashes of Thezmarr, Silver & Smoke (I got an ARC copy from NetGalley, but I also ordered the hardcover edition), is a very exciting, fast-paced story that completely sucked me in! I devoured the pages because there was so much at stake, and I wanted to know what would happen to Wren and her friends.
I simply loved it! I couldn’t put it down when I had other things to do. I was so excited to see if Wren and her team would run out of time and if she would be able to reclaim the land she is the rightful ruler of. There was never a moment of downtime; something was always happening!
I wanted to read along, but I also didn't want to finish it, because finishing a series is always a difficult task for me, because you've grown to like the characters as if they were real people, not just characters in a book. Plus, they're all lovable. So it's hard to let go. But I'm really happy with the ending, I can only recommend it! ❤
Lord Lucian was very creepy, a thoroughly evil man who only thinks about himself and power. I probably hated him even more than Silas, even though he was incredibly horrible. I liked Darian, and it became clear why he did what he did in the past. I couldn't help but love Torj and Wren, because they went through so much together. But like in the previous books, Kipp was my favorite! He's a brilliant character! 😃I would love to read more about him! What happened to the Drevenor Academy was a very shocking experience, but I was confident that there would be hope for the institution. However, I admired the unity that both the Warswords and the alchemists demonstrated.
The final volume gets five stars from me!
