Érdekesnek találtam a fülszöveget, no meg hát Marissa Meyer írta, így nem is volt kérdés, hogy nekem bizony ezt (is) el kell tőle olvasnom! ❤  Külön köszönet az arc példányért a NetGalley-nak, valamint a Faber and Faber Ltd-nek! 

Mallory Fontaine boszorkánycsaládból származik, de ő maga nem rendelkezik mágiával. Legnagyobb bánatára az egyetlen képessége annyi, hogy látja a szellemeket. Ám hírnevüket kihasználva, továbbviszi testvérével a családi vállalkozást. 

Naív túristákat paliznak be, és túrákat szerveznek a hírhedt kúriába, ahol az első Saphir-gyilkosság történt. Mallory azt állítja magáról, hogy Monsieur Le Bleu – szakértője, és mindent tud a botrányos múltjáról, és még vele kapcsolatos hamisitványokat is árulnak a látogatók számára. 

Arra nem számít viszont, hogy az egyik ilyen túra alkalmával felbukkan egy rejtélyes fiú, aki Bastien dédunokájának vallja magát... Miért is bonyolítaná a helyzetet, hogy pont a Fontaine nővéreket keresi, és hogy őszinte meggyőződése, hogy csakis ők segíthetnek kiűzni a dédapja szellemét az otthonából?

Ez a könyv is retelling, méghozzá a Kékszakáll újragondolása. Gótikus és fantasy és horror elemekkel átszőtt történet, érdekes karakterekkel. Végig Serilda (Gilded) jutott Mallory-ról eszembe, mert ő is hazudott, mint a vízfolyás! :D És ő is folyton veszélybe sodorta magát. A húgát, Anaïst sem kell félteni, de ő azért nem olyan vakmerő, mint a nővére...

A feleségek közül egyértelműen Triphine volt a kedvencem ❤

A veszélyes kalandsorozat kellős közepén viszontlátják a lányok a vadászokat, és így már együtt néznek szembe, vagy éppen menekülnek el a zord ellenségük elől. Imádtam a nyomozós szálat!

Armand, a leszármazott Saphír egész sejtelmes figura volt, kíváncsi voltam, ő is olyan, mint amilyen a  dédapja, vagy benne megbízhatnak a Fontaine lányok?

Mallory Fontaine comes from a family of witches, but she doesn’t have any magic herself. To her great sadness, her only ability is to see ghosts. But taking advantage of their fame, she and her sister continue the family business.

They lure naive tourists in and organize tours of the infamous mansion where the first Saphir murder took place. Mallory claims to be an expert on Monsieur Le Bleu, and knows everything about his scandalous past, and even sells fake jewelry to visitors.

What she doesn't expect, however, is that during one of these trips, a mysterious boy appears who claims to be Bastien's great-grandson... Why would he complicate the situation by looking for the Fontaine sisters, and by his sincere belief that only they can help him expel his great-grandfather's ghost from his home?

This book is also a retelling, a reimagining of Bluebeard. A story woven with gothic, fantasy, and horror elements, with interesting characters. I kept thinking of Serilda (Gilded) as Mallory, because she also lied like a river! :D And she also constantly put herself in danger. Her sister Anaïs is not to be feared either, but she is not as reckless as her sister...

Of the wives, Triphine was definitely my favorite ❤

In the middle of the dangerous adventure series, the girls meet the hunters again, and so they face or flee from their fierce enemy together. I loved the detective line!

Armand, the descendant of Saphir, was quite a mysterious figure. I was curious, is he like his great-grandfather, or can the Fontaine girls trust him?

Read it, and you will find out! ;-)
