Azt hiszem, azt nyugodtan kijelenthetem, hogy idén a dark akadémia témájú könyvekből olvastam a legtöbbet. Érdekes, milyen sok mindent ki lehet hozni a témából. 

Kamilah Cole: An Arcane Inheritance című könyvében Ellory Morgan kemény munka árán bekerül álmai iskolájába, a Warren egyetemre. Persze, egyből összefut az iskola legmorcosabb és leggazdagabb diákjával, Hudson Graves-szel, és mint kiderül, a családjáról mint adományozóról nevezték el a könvtárat.

 Kapcsolatuk színtiszta utálatra épül, Ellory ki nem állhatja Hudsont, és a fiú sem mutat különösebb érdeklődést a lány irányt. Szerencsére azért barátokra is lel ott: Cody és Tai remek emberek. A szobatársa,Stasie már nem annyira... 

Ahogy telnek a napok, úgy történik egyre több furcsa és megmagyarázhatatlan dolog Ellory-val. Ráadásul olyan dolgokat tud, és olyan helyekre megy, ahol még nem volt ezelőtt. A de ja vu érzés teljesen hatalmába keríti, és jegyeteket kezd írni. És minden út Hudsonhoz vezet. Rajta áll, hogy segít neki kibogozni a szálakat, vagy hagyja a sötétben tapogatózni.

Az elején teljesen magába szippantott a történet, bár elég lassan bontakozott ki. Viszont nagyon tudni akartam, vajon miért van Ellory-nak de ja vu érzése, és mi köze Hudsonnak és az iskolának hozzá. Kitartottam a végéig, és ott kaptam választ néhány dologra. 

A szereplők közül talán Liam áll hozzám legközelebb, szerethető egy karakter. Ellory-t az önzetlen segítőkészsége jellemzi, hiszen egész életében másokat helyezett előtérbe. Lásd pl. a nénikéjét, akit gondozott, és akihez a szülei küldték egy jobb élet reményében. Vagy azok az áldozatok, akik eltűntek, őértük is mindent megtesz, hogy emlékezzenek rájuk. Túl sok minden nem derült ki Hudsonról, de legbelül nem is olyan rideg, mint amennyire mutatja. A végén kiderül, mi miért is volt. 

Néhol elvesztettem a fonalat, de összegezve egy jó kis dark akadémia volt ez.

I think I can safely say that I have read the most dark academy books this year. It is interesting how much you can get out of the subject.

In Kamilah Cole's book, An Arcane Inheritance, Ellory Morgan works hard to get into her dream school, Warren University. Of course, she immediately runs into the school's grumpiest and richest student, Hudson Graves, and as it turns out, the library was named after his family as a donor.

Their relationship is based on pure hatred. Ellory can't stand Hudson, and he doesn't show much interest in her either. Fortunately, she finds friends there: Cody and Tai are great people. Her roommate, Stasie, is not so much...

As the days go by, more and more strange and inexplicable things happen to Ellory. In addition, she knows things and goes to places she has never been before. The feeling of de ja vu completely takes over her, and she starts writing notes. And all roads lead to Hudson. It's up to him to help her unravel the threads or leave her to fumble in the dark.

At the beginning, the story completely sucked me in, although it unfolded quite slowly. However, I really wanted to know why Ellory had a feeling of de ja vu and what Hudson and the school had to do with it. I stuck with it until the end, and there I got some answers.

Of the characters, Liam is perhaps the closest to me, a lovable character. Ellory is characterized by her selfless helpfulness, as she has put others first all her life. See for example her aunt, whom she took care of and to whom her parents sent her in the hope of a better life. Or the victims who disappeared, she does everything for them to be remembered. Not much has been revealed about Hudson, but deep down, he is not as cold as he appears. In the end, it turns out what happened and why.

I lost the thread at times, and it was confusing, but overall, it was a good Dark Academy story.

This book gets ★★★⯨✩ from me.
