A február és március egy részét az Ellis Hunter írópáros (Katie Ellis-Brown és Becky Hunter) debütáló regényének a társaságában töltöttem. ❤ (Ne tévesszen meg a lassú olvasási időm, ami egyébként is az; csak sokat voltunk itthon megfázva, meg adulting, you know).

A címe: Blood ​Bound, és a Cursed Covenant sorozat első része. Ezúttal is a borító miatt figyeltem fel rá. Egyszerűen imádom a piros-kék színkombinációt! No meg sárkány! *-* Köszönöm az ARC példányt a NetGalley-nek és a HarperCollinsnak!

Astrid mindig tudta, hogy egy napon párbajoznia kell majd annak érdekében, hogy megállítsa a pusztító vészt, amely rengeteg áldozatot követel hosszú ideje. A baj csak az, hogy esélye sincs Zyran herceggel szemben, akinek még saját sárkánya is van... Bár ő az utolsó nachsterni boszorkány és Arturea királynőjének örököse, neki mindössze egy feketemacskája és pár ütős főzete van, amivel egy átlagos küzdelemben megtudná védeni magát, de nem a Vatra királyság trónörökösével szemben, aki ráadásul még egyéb képességek birtokában is van. Legalább ha a saját képessége megmutatkozna, és tudná azt használni, akkor több eséllyel indulna. 

Skylar egész életében a napi betevőjéért dolgozott Aldric csapatában, pengezsonglőrként. Nevezhetjük őket szemfényvesztőknek is, ugyanis Aldric képességével manipulálni tudja a bandája megjelenését, így mindig máshogy néznek ki a közönség számára. Egy napon Cam, Skylar legjobb barátjának nyoma vész, és a lánynak rossz előérzete támad. Tetézi a bajt, amikor  Arturea királynője, Guinevere Nachstern berendeli őt Zachary de veras király színe elé, azt állítva, hogy ő a jogos trónörökös, ezért neki kell mennie a párbajra...

Astrid és Skylar sorsa nagyon hamar egybefonódik, és azon kapják magukat, hogy egymás ellen kell küzdeniük az életbenmaradásért. A két lány olyan, mint a tűz és a víz, de ennek ellenére is barátság szövődik kettejük és cuki állataik között. 

Zyran herceg meg abszolút kedvenc! OMG ez a pasi! Jól néz ki, izmos és még titokban lázadó is! Kell ennél több???

Szeretem, ha egy történet váltott nézőpontból íródott, mint ahogyan a Blood Bound is, mert így beleláthatunk mindkét lány gondolataiba. Mivel ez a könyv a sorozat első része, így erős függővéggel zárult, és rengeteg kérdés maradt nyitva. Várom a folytatást, mindenképp könyvespolcon a helye! (Spoiler: időközben megrendeltem keménytáblás kiadásban.)

I spent part of February and March reading the debut novel by the writing duo Ellis Hunter (Katie Ellis-Brown and Becky Hunter). ❤ (Don't let my slow reading time fool you, which it is anyway; we just had a lot of colds at home, and adulting, you know).

Its title is: Blood Bound, and it's the first part of the Cursed Covenant series. I noticed the cover first, I simply love the red-blue color combination! And a dragon! *-* Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins for the ARC copy!

Okay, I simply loved it, and I couldn't get enough of the story! And dragons! Team Kaida! ❤❤❤

Astrid always knew that one day she would have to duel in order to stop the devastating plague that has been claiming so many victims for a long time. The only problem is that she doesn't stand a chance against Prince Zyran, who even has his own dragon... Although she is the last witch of Nachstern and the heir of Queen Arturea, she only has a black cat and a few potions with which she could defend herself in an average fight, but not against the heir to the throne of the Vatra Kingdom, who also has other abilities. At least if her own ability were to show itself and she could use it, she would have a better chance.

Skylar has worked for Aldric's team all her life to earn her daily income as a blade juggler. We can also call them blinders because, with Aldric's ability, she can manipulate the appearance of his gang, so they always look different to the public. One day, Cam, Skylar's best friend, goes missing, and the girl has a bad feeling. To make matters worse, Guinevere Nachstern summons her to King Zachary de Veras, claiming that she is the rightful heir to the throne, so she must go to the duel...

Astrid and Skylar's fates soon become intertwined, and they find themselves having to fight each other for survival. The two girls are like fire and water, but despite this, a friendship develops between them and between their cute animals.

Prince Zyran is an absolute favorite! OMG this guy! He's good-looking, muscular, and even secretly rebellious! Who needs more than that???

I like it when a story is written from an alternate perspective, like Blood Bound, because that way we can see into the thoughts of both main characters. Since this book is the first installment of the series, it ended on a strong cliffhanger, and many questions were left unanswered. I'm looking forward to the sequel, it definitely belongs on my bookshelf! (Spoiler: I've ordered the hardcover edition in the meantime).

The first installment got a ★★★★★ from me.
